Bio > Jen Casey Romer is a Creative Director, Designer and Visual Artist who lives and works in New York & abroad. Over the course of the last decade, her directive work and creative leadership have helped to empower brands, as well as her partners and co-collaborators. Her methods emphasize intuitive, human-centered design principles across projects in Branding & Identity, Creative Conceptual Development, (Digital and Physical) Experiential Design.

After earning her BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2012, Jen quickly became disillusioned with the business of buying and making art in the context of New York’s “art world”. Driven by a desire to see bigger, faster change in the world around her, Jen soon pivoted into a career in Marketing. She ascended quickly to an executive role as Creative Director for a national franchise based in NYC, and expanded her focus into other market sectors as a freelance Creative Director, Designer and Consultant. In 2018, Jen was brought on by CRONY Creative, an experiential marketing agency, as their first key hire to build the agency and its partnerships. Her contributions as Creative Director were key in defining its successes, as the Agency experienced exponential growth in both its operations and in its revenue — earning industry-wide recognition, press and awards for its Creative work.

In January 2021, Jen partnered with Lucas Walters to launch Ugly Mother Creative, a loving reinterpretation and modern approach to the work and role of “creative agency”. To learn more, visit uglymother.co.

Today, Jen continues her work building brands, growing audiences and re-shaping her relationship with design. Her approach continues to be deeply tethered to her foundations in fine art — psychologies of space, implications of light and color, dialogue with the senses — and applying those lessons to marketing initiatives that reach the global public.
